LITURGY OF THE WORD

1st READING ISAIAH 55:6-9

(Seek the Lord)

Seek the Lord. His ways are far above human ways. The thoughts of God are not the thoughts of human beings. God is rich in forgiving.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 145

(The Nearness of God)

The Lord is near to all who call up to him.

2nd READING PHILIPPIANS 1:20c-24, 27a

(Life in Christ)

Paul notes that whether he lives or dies,

his life belongs to Christ. It would be more beneficial for the Philippians for Paul to continue living in the flesh to bring them the message of Jesus.

THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 20:1-16

(Forgiving Our Neighbor)

Jesus teaches that the Kingdom of God is like a landowner who hires early in the morning, again at midmorning, at noon, and at midafternoon. At payment time, all the workers receive the same wage. How just and generous God Is!

INTERCESSION PRAYERS

For the Church: that we may humbly accept God's gift of salvation and recognize that each day is a gift from God to us.

For the grace to prefer nothing to Christ: that we may live each day striving to be faithful disciples through trusting in God’s providence and showing love and compassion to all who enter our lives.

For a compassionate heart: that we may have genuine concern for the needs and struggles of others and generously offer our resources to assist them.

For the Special Intentions of: Pope Leo XIV, Archbishop Thompson,

 and Father Brian.

For the healing all who are sick. Including, Judy & Ed Rees.

That God will answer all prayer requests & help all who are sick.

For all who have died and for all other Mass intentions this weekend: Patricia Ernst, The Kiesler & Renn Families, & Leo & Louise Coomes. May they share in the resurrection.
