2nd READING 1 CORINTHIANS1:26-31 (Boast in the Lord) Contrary to worldly standards, God chooses those who are weak, lowborn and despised. To these God has given his own Son, Jesus, for sanctification and redemption.
(A New Teaching) Jesus says that the poor in spirit, the sorrowing, those thirsting for holiness, the merciful, the peacemakers, and those who suffer for holiness’ sake are “blessed” -their reward awaits them in heaven.
