1st READING ISAIAH 8:23-9:3 (Joy and Light) Isaiah tells of a land in the west where there is no gloom, for the people see a great light. They are to rejoice that the yoke that bound them is smashed. RESPONSORIAL PSALM 27 (Wait with Courage) “The Lord is my light and my salvation.”
2nd READING 1CORINTHIANS 1:10-13, 17 (Need for Unity) Paul warns the people of Corinth that there must be unity among the people of God. There is only one Gospel message. Jesus cannot be divided, no matter who preaches about him. THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 4:12-23 (Reform Your Lives) Jesus preached reform. At the Sea of Galilee, he called Peter and Andrew, James and John, to become fisher of people. At once, they left their nets to follow him. Jesus taught and worked miracles. SCRIP SCRIP orders are due on the first weekend of every month. Order forms are located at the entrances.
