RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 138
(God’s Eternal Love)
Lord, your love is eternal; do not forsake the work of your hands.
2nd READING ROMANS 11:33-36

Paul offers a description of God, noting his
infinite wisdom. God's ways are unsearchable, and no one can really measure the mind of God. But in him all things have their being.
THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 16:13-20

Peter acknowledges that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus, in turn, declares Peter the rock upon which his church is to be built. He also gives Peter the power of the keys.

AMERICAN MARTYRS OCIA CLASSES
OCIA classes will start in September. If you know someone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith (no pressure to join the church), please have them contact Cindy Light @ 812-595-3673. All parishioners are invited to attend also - come support those learning about our faith! The program we will use this year is a new program so, if you've attended in the past, consider attending again.
WE NEED ALTAR SERVERS! If your child has made 1st Communion, please talk to them about becoming a server. Again, contact Cindy Light to sign up for a training.

INTERCESSION PRAYERS
For unity in the Church: that all Christians may value the unity of our faith in the world’s many nations.
For all nations: that through the intercession of Mary, reigning in glory, Christ’s kingdom of justice and peace may be established.
That all may discover new paths to take so that the power of the Gospel, as proclaimed by the Catholic Church will become their wisdom of life.
For the grace this week to accept the discipline God gives us in order to strengthen us in holiness, let us pray to the Lord.
For the Special Intentions of: Pope Leo XIV, Archbishop Thompson, and Father Brian.
For the healing all who are sick. That God will answer all prayer requests & help all who are sick.
For all who have died and for all other Mass intentions this weekend: Josephine Zink, Chris Ernst, Jim Barrett, & The Guevara Family. May they share in the resurrection. |
