Louis Manna (Mary Cannello) Sunday, December 22nd – The People of the Parish Sunday, December 29th – The People of the Parish Lord, what commandment do we live by? To look after Number One? To seek comfort in retail therapy or selfish pleasures when we are down. What is it, to love you with all our heart? We think that only you can do that for us. You purify our hearts by chipping away at our selfishness and our illusions, by showing us that you have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless till they rest in you. The 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time (Keeping the Commandments) Moses instructs the people to hold fast to the commandments of the Lord. In this way they shall love God, and they will prosper in the Lord’s favor. RESPONSORIAL PSALM 18 (God Our Helper) I Love you, Lord, my strength.
2nd READING HEBREWS 7:23-28 (Jesus The High priest) Jesus has a priesthood that will not pass away. He is a high priest holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and higher than the heavens. He offered one sacrifice for sin. THE GOSPEL OF MARK 12:28-34 (Love For God and Neighbor) Jesus describes the first commandment- the total love for God- and the second- love for neighbor.
SCRIP SCRIP orders are due the first weekend of every month. Order forms are located at the entrances. PRAYER REQUESTS Please email any prayer requests to Kathy Karmire ( karmire54@gmail.com) There will be a training for anyone interested in becoming a Eucharistic Minister on Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. Please prayerfully consider this Ministry as we have become very short handed. Contact Mary Smith with any questions (812-595-2243)
While in the Church…… Be silent. Be thoughtful. Be reverent. This is God's house. Before Mass, speak to God. During Mass, let God speak to you. After Mass, speak to one another.
AMERICAN MARTYRS The new 2025 Saint Joseph Missals are available for $5:00. You can get yours now in the Sacristy or the Parish Office.
SAINT PATRICK’S LADIES Ladies, mark your calendars for this year’s Saint Patrick ladies Christmas Party on Sunday, December 8th at 1:00 pm. More info to come. SAINT PATRICK We still need volunteers to help clean the church. Please see Judy or Darrell to sign up. Also, we still have some of those sturdy steel chairs to give away. If you or anyone that you know needs any, please see Darrell.
SAINT PATRICK FOOD BANK COLLECTION For the next 2 Sundays we will be collecting food for the Washington County Food Bank. (Food For Thanksgiving) We will have 3 tables in the narthex. For each table we fill up, we will buy a turkey for the Food Bank to go with it. Also, the food Bank is always in need of: Cereal, Single Packs of Oatmeal, Soup, & Crackers. If you have any questions, please see Darrell Lanham, Beth Miller or Pat Daugherty. AMERICAN MARTYRS The church will be holding a silent basket auction at the Knights of Columbus Wine Tasting to raise money. The baskets will be ready for the parish to start bidding on them after the weekend masses, November 2nd and 3rd. They will then be available to bid on at the wine tasting, Nov. 9th. All money raised will go to American Martyrs. AMERICAN MARTYRS SOCIAL NIGHT American Martyrs Thanksgiving social night will be Saturday, November 16th. Turkey and stuffing will be provided by the church. All are welcome. If you would like to bring a side dish or dessert, we have a sign-up sheet this year to prevent too many duplicate sides. The sheet contains classic Thanksgiving sides and blank spaces for you to write in your own side dish. The sign-up sheet will be on the bulletin board at the parking lot entrance.
