1st READING ISAIAH 2:1-5 (The Messianic Time) In a vision the prophet sees the promises of salvation being fulfilled. The Word of the Lord is personified; he shall judge. Let us walk in the light of the Lord. RESPONSORIAL PSALM PS 122 (Joy in the Lord’s House) “Let us go rejoicing to the house of the Lord.”
2nd READING ROMANS 13:11-14 (Put On the Lord) The Apostle urges us to come out of the darkness of sin into the protective light – Jesus is the light. THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 24:37-44 (Stay Awake) We must always be prepared for the coming of Christ, for no one knows the day or hour. Even though we are prepared, his coming will be unexpected; we must not be caught off guard. SCRIP SCRIP orders are due this weekend for them to arrive in time for Christmas. Knights of Columbus Christmas Cheer Please join the K of C on 1460 N Gardner St., Scottsburg for some Christmas cheer, fellowship, and a catered meal on Sunday, Dec. 7. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. with dinner at 4:30 p.m. Bingo games will be played for prizes following the meal.
