The Fifth Sunday of Easter

LITURGY OF THE WORD

1st READING Acts 6:1-7

(Spiritual & Material Tasks)

Since the number of faithful was growing, seven men were proposed as ministers to help in the work of the Church. The Apostles prayed over them and imposed hands on them.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM 33

(Exult in the Lord)

Lord, let your mercy be on us, as we place our trust in you.

2nd READING 1st LETTER OF SAINT PETER 2:4-9

(A Royal Priesthood)

Jesus is the cornerstone of the Church. The People of God are living stones. We are a Royal Priesthood, a consecrated nation, a people set apart to proclaim Jesus’ good works.

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN 14:1-12

(Faith in God)

Jesus assures the Apostles that he is the way, the truth, and the life. The Father lives in him and he in   the Father. Whoever has faith in Jesus, will do the works of God.

St. Patrick Church Appeal

Life Is Not A Spectator Sport. Church life beyond Mass also requires engagement, getting involved, and taking initiative rather than just watching events unfold. Active participation helps individuals connect with one another, providing support, friendship, and shared values. Involvement in church life, such as in study groups or ministry, helps individuals deepen their knowledge of faith and find meaning. The St. Patrick Church Appeal form, including a list of time and talent opportunities is available in the Narthex. Please obtain a form and discern how you can share your time, talent, and treasure.
