SOME THOUGHTS ON TODAY’S GOSPEL                            Jesus is our protector and Shepherd who guards and guides, who feeds and protects us from the dangers of life and defends us from anyone who tries to take us away from him. We are assured of this gift as we stay connected to hearing his voice.
Coming to prayer keeps us close to God, deepening this relationship which exists between us so we can listen to his voice. This is a precious time where we can experience a loving intimacy which God longs to give us. This is a gift that continues to guard and guide us. We listen to God’s gentle voice speak to our heart.

The 4th Sunday of Easter

LITURGY OF THE WORD

1st Reading ACTS 13:14, 43-52

(Salvation in Jesus)

As missionaries, Paul and Barnabas meet with some success and encounter strong opposition. Steadfastness in faith is a source of joy.

                           RESPONSORIAL PSALM PS 100

(The Lord is God)

“We are his people, the sheep of his flock”

                        2nd Reading REVELATIONS 7:9, 14b-17

 (The Blood of the Lamb)

Those who remain faithful despite severe persecution will find their reward is to be with God and restored to peace.

In today’s Gospel of John 10:27-30

(The Good Shepherd)

Jesus proclaims his oneness with the Father. His love for us is so great that he brings us eternal life.
