The Third Sunday of Lent

LITURGY OF THE WORD

1st READING EXODUS 17: 3-7

                                       (Water from Rock)

The Israelites murmured against God in their thirst. God directs Moses to strike a rock with his staff, and water issues forth.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM 95

(The Lord Our Rock)

If today you hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

2nd READING ROMANS 5:1-2, 5-8

(God’s Love for Us)

Through Jesus we have received the grace of faith. The Love of God has been poured upon us. Jesus laid down his life for us while we are still sinners.

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN 4:5-42

(Samaritan Woman)

Jesus speaks to the Samaritan woman at the well. He searches her soul, and she recognizes him as a profit. Jesus speaks of the water of eternal life. He also notes that the fields are ready for harvest.

Intercession Prayers
1. For the Church, that we may be a source of living water for all who thirst for meaning and purpose in their lives.

2. For the grace of courage: that through our encounters with Christ, we may be strengthened, freed from fear, and emboldened to share our experience of knowing Christ.

3. For a deepening of hope: that the Spirit of God will help us experience the length and depth of God‘s love for us and renew our trust in God’s faithfulness as we face our daily challenges.

4. For the Special Intentions of: Pope Leo XIV,
Archbishop Thompson, and Father Brian.

5. For the healing all who are sick, including: Ramona Barger,
Sue White, Ashley Lehto, Bill & Carol Gilstrap, Raymond Herbert,
Tom Bowers, Jane Zatonsky, Bea Boswell, Janice Teipen,
Sonia Weddle, Ron Bailiff, & Martha Spicer.
That God will answer all prayer requests & help all who are sick.

     6. For all who have died and for all Mass intentions this weekend:       Jim Barrett, Brian Cannello, & Tom Hayes. That those who have died may share in the resurrection.

American Martyrs

Many thanks to Kathy Karmire for her generous donation which permitted us to purchase new banners to advertise the Lenten Fish Fry’s.

Recently, a finance report was shared with our congregation regarding our monthly income and expenses. In that report, it was noted that, from July 2025 to January 2026, our church had a deficit of over $7,000. An anonymous donor wrote a check to cover that entire deficit. On behalf of Father Brian, our Parish Council, and our entire church family, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to this donor for the extremely generous gift. We pray God Bless you as you have Blessed us.
