The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

LITURGY OF THE WORD

1st READING DEUTERONOMY 8:2-3, 14b -16a

(Manna in the Desert)

Moses reminds the Israelites that although God let them hunger, still he

fed them with manna, a food unknown. He brought them out of the slavery of Egypt and cared for them.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM 147

(The Best of Wheat)

Praise the Lord, Jerusalem!

2nd READING 1st CORINTHIANS 10: 16-17

(Body and Blood)

In the one bread and sharing the one cup, we are united in the body and

blood of Jesus. We, though many, are still one body in Jesus.

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN 6:51-58

(Living Bread)

Jesus speaks of his Body and Blood in the Holy Eucharist. Whoever receives the Holy Eucharist will be raised up on the last day; whoever eats this bread will live forever.

AMERICAN MARTYRS

Participating in Church Ministries moves our faith from a passive experience to an active one, transforming “going to church” to “being the church”. Saturday, June 13th is American Martyrs Family Social Dinner and the start of our Ministry Fair and Church Appeal. Plan now to enjoy a delicious meal, fellowship, and learn more about different opportunities to share your time and talent.

A Big Thank You

Thank you for all the clothing donated to The Women’s Recovery Center. They have no more space to store any now. Your response was generous and appreciated. Please consider “Food 4 R Souls” clothes closet in Austin, Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church clothes closet on highway 356, or St Vincent de Paul Center in North Vernon for future donations.
