SOME THOUGHTS ON TODAY’S GOSPEL                          "You give them something to eat." Lord, what did you mean by that? One reading is that many people had brought food with them, but did not want to share it out, until the apostles led the way with their five loaves and two fish. So, Jesus turned selfish, suspicious people into generous people, happy to share – a greater miracle than multiplying bread. Lord, transform us in the same way.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

1st READING GENESIS 14: 18-20
(Blessing of Melchizedek)
Sharing bread and wine, a
foreshadowing of the Eucharistic elements, Abram is blessed and
God is praised.

                            RESPONSORIAL PSALM  PS 110
(Eternal Priesthood)
“You are the priest forever, in the line of Melchizedek.”

2nd READING CORINTHIANS 11: 23-26
(The First Eucharist)
When we eat this bread and drink this
cup, we proclaim your glory, Lord Jesus, until you come again.

THE GOSPEL OF LUKE  9:11b-17
(Loaves and Fishes)
Jesus feeds the people through the Apostles. It all foreshadows the Eucharist.

A Bon Voyage party for Father Santhosh!

It is scheduled for Sunday, June 29 at the Knights of Columbus Hall from

1-3 in the afternoon. For the past 4 years, we've been blessed to have Father in our lives and we're going to miss him dearly. Everyone from both parishes is invited to wish him well and to share a favorite story or two. Also, if you have any photos of Father that you'd like to submit, please drop them in the collection basket at church, the Parish Office, or give them to any Parish Council member.

There will be no daily masses from June 24th to June 27th.

Father Santhosh will be at Saint Meinrad for his Priest Convocation.
