1st READING GENESIS 2:7-9; 3:1-7 (Sin of Our First Parents) God created Adam & Eve and placed them in the luxurious Garden of Eden. They could eat fruit from every tree except one. After being tempted by the devil, Eve-then Adam- disobeyed God’s command. Immediately their lives changed. RESPONSORIAL PSALM 51 (Repentance) “Be merciful O Lord, for we have sinned.”
2nd READING 1 ROMANS 5:12-19 (Saved Through Christ) From the fall of Adam, sin came into the world. God, however, gave the gift of his Son, Jesus. Through him justice was restored. Through the obedience of Jesus, justice comes to all. THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW 4:1-11 (Temptation) The devil tempted Adam; he also tempts Jesus three times, making lavish promises. Jesus rebukes Satan, for only God is to be adored. SCRIP SCRIP orders are due on the first weekend of every month. Order forms are located at the entrances. The Saint Patrick Fish Fry Quilt Raffle/Silent Auction The Saint Patrick Fish Fry is every Friday (except Good Friday) from 4:30 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. during Lent. The Fish Dinner is $11 & includes: Fish, 2 sides, a drink, & dessert. We need volunteers & Dessert donations. Dessert donations can be dropped off every Friday afternoon. The Quilt Raffle tickets are $1.00 or 6 for $ 5.00. Please see Darrel or Judy for Tickets. Tickets can also be purchased at the Parish Office. The Drawing will be held on Friday, March 27th along with the Silent Auction.
K of C Lenten Fish Fry Lenten Fish Fry’s will be Every Friday during Lent from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Volunteers are needed to make this fundraising event successful. Last year, a total of $9,000 was donated to our church. If you are unable to volunteer, you can also help by coming out to the K of C hall for a delicious fish dinner, spread the word, or donate a dessert. Desserts can be dropped off at any time after 2:00 p.m. each Friday at the Knights hall. The Fish Dinner Menu: Fish, Cole slaw, Hush Puppies and 2 sides. Sides choose from, Baked Potatoes, French Fries, Green Beans or Macaroni and Cheese. Dessert and a drink. All for $14.00.
