A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT

Jesus, the “Good Shepherd,” makes a promise in today’s Gospel to those who hear his voice and follow him. He promises them eternal life. Amidst all the other voices that clamor for attention in their daily lives, the voices that make demands, give advice, seek to persuade or like to gossip, Good stewards listen for the Good Shepherd’s voice. The other voices are legion and we do not always recognize how contrary they are to the voice of the Good Shepherd. Good stewards know that it takes a compassionate heart, a habit of prayer, a hunger for the Eucharist and a love of neighbor for them to truly hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. What might we do in our daily lives to prepare us to more authentically hear the voice of the Good Shepherd?

Question of the Week

Children:
Jesus promises to guard us like a shepherd does the sheep.
How do you experience his loving care in your life?

Niño:

¿ Jesús promete protegernos al igual que un pastor protege a sus ovejas.

¿Cómo experimentan su amor en sus vidas?

Youth:

Jesus said “My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

How does Jesus speak to you? What new path is he asking of you?

Jóvenes:

¿Jesús dijo: “Mis ovejas oyen mi voz, las conozco y ellas me siguen”.

¿Cómo te habla Jesús? ¿Qué nuevo camino te está pidiendo que sigas?

.
Adults:

What is your experience of being a follower of Christ,

of being cared for and guarded with him as shepherd?

Adultos:

¿ Cuál es su experiencia de ser seguidores de Cristo,

de ser cuidados y protegidos por él como pastor?

“Lord, thank you for the example of our Blessed Mother, Mary, Help me to become an even more effective bearer of your life.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

God’s  Creation of Mothers

If it wasn’t for God, we wouldn’t exist.
He made us all, and there’s one thing he wouldn’t miss.
The qualities of a mother, and all it takes
to raise His children in his created place.

He knew just what he was doing.

Oh, yes he did.
For when he made woman to care for kids
He gave her strength, He gave her patience,
He gave her unconditional love, oh what a special creation!

Thank you, God, for making mothers so amazing
I’m especially thankful for mine and all she’s done raising me!

Respect Life Reflection

“If you experience difficulty bringing a child into your family, know that you are not alone. God is with you, and his Church desires to walk with you… God has a beautiful plan for your life as a married couple. Seek his guidance, and let the healing power of prayer, a conversation in which ‘heart speaks unto heart,’ strengthen you.”

Lord Jesus Christ, in the Sacrament of
the Eucharist You left us the outstanding
manifestation of your limitless love for us.

Thank You for giving These children the
opportunity to experience this love
in receiving the Sacrament for the first time.

May your Eucharist presence keep them
ever free from sin, fortified in faith,
pervaded by love for God and neighbor,
and fruitful in virtue, that they may
continue to receive You throughout life and
attain final union with You at death.

Amen.

Fr. Joe
